You've Got Questions, We've Got Answers.
To put it simply, a NovaDome is a multi-use, hard-shell fiberglass composite dome shelter. Need we say more?
The possibilities with a NovaDome are endless, and we could talk about them all day. Some popular uses include glamping pods, homeless housing, tiny homes, military shelters, hunting blinds, disaster relief units, and more! But go ahead and let your creative side lead the way. They can be used for anything!
There is a reason why our domes are the most durable on the market. Each NovaDome is made up of high-tech fiberglass composite panels that are extremely durable and ultra-low maintenance. All hardware used to attach the panels is stainless steel.
We make NovaDome shelters for everyone! Here at NovaDome, we have made it possible for both individuals and businesses to get their hands on our domes.
Considering the fact that our domes can withstand 180 mph winds and 30’ snow loads, we can confidently say that they perform exceptionally well in harsh environments with extreme weather conditions. This is one of the many areas where we really separate ourselves from any other dome shelter on the market. From +50°C to -50°C, a NovaDome will take whatever mother nature throws at it.
You bet! Our high-tech fiberglass composite panels are built to withstand all seasons and last for decades to come. We take durability seriously over here.
We’re glad you asked. This is where the competition just can’t keep up. Our NovaDome shelters can last up to 50 years! We know, it’s crazy. Our domes won’t break down unlike some other dome products (*cough *cough….fabric domes….*cough *cough).
A little! At minimum, the site where you want to install your dome should be level. Typically, a wooden deck platform or concrete slab foundation is used. However, you can anchor our domes directly to the ground too. We can provide the anchoring hardware. Just ask! If you are planning to run electrical or plumbing to your dome, you will want to make sure that is in place with your foundation before constructing your dome.
100%! We are proud to offer an industry-leading prorated warranty of 15 years on all of our domes. This will cover any manufacturer defects in the exterior fiberglass panels or installation hardware. Keep in mind that our warranty is only valid if your dome is installed correctly, and you have registered your product with our warranty program after your purchase. For all interior components, we offer a standard 1-year warranty.
Yes! We are proud to say that each NovaDome has a near net-zero carbon footprint. Not only does our manufacturing process produce very little greenhouse gases, a NovaDome can be taken down and reused as many times as you’d like! And they require minimal ground disturbance when setting up. We only have one Earth. So lets help take care of it together.
Absolutely. The shape of our domes allows them to be very efficient when it comes to interior airflow. A small heater or air conditioner can be sufficient in sustaining comfortable temperatures throughout the interior, even in extreme environments. And if you need additional ventilation (besides our standard windows that are included with your dome), we highly recommend heading over to our shop page and checking out our solar fan options. We’ll even install them for free before shipping you the dome.
Good question! So our Mini Series has a peak interior height of about 8’. Our Astro Series and Classic Series dome models have a peak interior height of about 12’.
They sure can! We offer custom colors for the exterior of our domes, as well as plug-and-play, pre-built interior modules. To find out more about our pre-built interior modules, give us a shout!
All the cool ones, of course. From mini-split units, to solar vent fans, to wood stove and chimney kits, we have a bunch of awesome add-on options for your dome. You can check some of them out in our shop page!
Heck yes. You can definitely put a wood stove in our domes. Our fiberglass panels are made to withstand extreme heat and can be modified to accommodate a chimney. We’ll even cut the chimney hole for free prior to shipping the dome if you want! To check out our wood and pellet stove options, head over to our shop page.
We love this question. You can definitely join our domes together to create a super awesome multi-room setup. We have connections kits that we can include with your order. There is no limit for this either. You can connect as many domes together as you would like! All we ask is that you connect the same dome models together. Since our door height is shorter on our Mini Series, it can’t be connected to our Classic Series or Astro Series without some more significant modifications. But hey, if you want to try, go for it!
You bet. We love when people get creative with decals and wraps. If you’re looking to customize some or all of the panels of your dome, we can get custom graphics created for you. Or you can do it yourself! That’s cool too.
Everywhere! We can ship our dome shelters worldwide. Keep in mind that our online store only ships to North America at the moment, so please contact us here if you are outside North America and looking to purchase our products. We are working on expanding our online store to include more countries in the near future! Stay tuned.
Once your order is ready to ship, North America delivery times usually range from 2 – 15 days depending on the location. If you are outside North America, contact us here to get estimated delivery times.
This question is a little tough to answer. Shipping cost depends on multiple factors such as what size of dome you order, how many domes you order, and the location you are shipping your order to. If you want an estimate on shipping costs, feel free to throw us a message at talktous@novadome.com.
You can pay with credit card, PayPal, EFT, or any of our “Buy Now, Pay Later” platforms when purchasing online.
We do! If you’re ordering through an organization or business, we can definitely hook you up with some financing options. For individual/private buyers, we usually recommend heading to your personal bank and exploring their financing options, as they will have more competitive rates.
Our Classic Series and Mini Series dome models are efficiently packed in wooden crates. Since the dome panels have a curve to them, they neatly stack on top of one another inside the crate. For an order of 5 domes or fewer, your order will usually be delivered on a flatbed truck. For orders of 5 domes or more, we can ship them in full flatbed truckloads or in a sea-can container. And don’t forget that you can use the wooden crates as storage for your NovaDome if you ever want to move it! As for our fully insulated Astro Series dome models, we ship them on wooden pallets.
The Mini Series is packed in a wooden crate that measures 72”L x 72”W x 54”H. The Classic Series is packed in a wooden crate that measures 114”L x 92”W x 54”H. Last but not least, the Astro Series is packed onto a wooden pallet/skid measuring 180″L x 84″W x 90″H..
This is a great question. You’ll need a forklift, skid steer with forks, telehandler or a similar piece of equipment to unload your dome. A pallet jack can also come is handy when maneuvering the crates.
They sure are. All dome shipments are insured. Worry not!
We’re proud to answer “yes” on this one! Giving back and helping people in need is something that we are very passionate about. A portion of every dome purchased goes to charity.
Very little! Unlike other domes on the market, our domes are virtually maintenance-free. The most you’ll need to do is spray off/clean the exterior every once in a while and inspect your sealant and hardware. That’s it!
All you will need is a hose or pressure washer for spraying the panels if they get dirty. We have designed our exteriors to resist outdoor contaminants, so you won’t have to do this often. And even if something does end up sticking to the panels, a sponge, some dish soap and water should take it off in a jiffy!
Because our dome shelters are freaking awesome and require minimal maintenance and cleaning. We’ve done all the hard work for you here!
Not long at all. A team of 3-5 people can assemble one of our domes in less than a day, even without any previous construction experience. Think of our domes as big LEGO or IKEA projects. They are really that easy. And don’t worry, we supply an in-depth installation manual too!
Just a few. All you will need to install your dome is two 9/16 sockets, a battery powered drill, a 12’ stepladder, a flathead screwdriver, a pry bar and an 18′-24’ extension ladder.
Absolutely. You can put it up and take it down as many times as you’d like! Unlike other domes on the market, our extremely durable fiberglass panels can easily be unbolted and put back together. Over and over and over again.
The beauty of a NovaDome is that it can be built virtually anywhere! And to maintain that ability, various anchoring kits are supplied with your dome to secure it to its foundation. For wood or deck foundations, wood screw anchors are typically used to anchor the dome. When placing a NovaDome on a concrete foundation, concrete anchors are used. If you want to fasten a NovaDome straight to the ground, we can supply an anchoring system that uses ground anchors and high-strength cables to secure the dome. And if you’re looking to put it on a different foundation type from the ones we’ve listed, no problem! Contact us and we’ll make it happen.
This depends on your local county or municipality and the regulations they have set up for your area. It would be best to check in with them and see what requires a building permit and what doesn’t. We can help by sending you one of our basic drawing packages that can sometimes help speed up the process. Just ask!
You bet. We include everything you need to get your dome rocking and rolling!
We recommend at crew of at least 3 people when assembling our Mini Series and at least 4 people when assembling our Classic Series and Astro Series domes. If you don’t want to assemble the dome yourself, you can hire a local contractor to do the work for you. We provide all the necessary instructions to assemble your dome, whether you do it yourself or hire it out.
